Job summary

Physicians East, P.A. is seeking a part-time Environmental Services worker to perform housekeeping tasks in medical office areas, patient rooms, and common spaces across our facilities.

You will read and follow standard English instructions, use cleaning chemicals safely, and maintain a confidential, organized work style in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Evening hours are typical, with potential weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Healthcare cleaning experience and knowledge of OSHA infection control preferred.
• Ability to read and follow Standard English instructions and operate cleaning equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Sweeping and/or mopping floors, dusting, cleaning rooms and restocking supplies.
• Read and understand Standard English, follow operating instructions for cleaning equipment and safety procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of medical offices, patient rooms, and waiting areas; ensure confidentiality and professionalism.

About The Role

We are looking for an employee that can perform day-to-day housekeeping functions within our Environmental Services Department in the following locations, medical office areas, patient/procedure rooms, common/waiting areas and special projects as assigned, in any of our locations as needed and/or requested.

Supervision Received: Reports to Environmental Services Supervisor; Team Lead, and Facilities Services Manager.

Supervision Exercised: None

Typical Physical Demands: Requires stamina and endurance, which requires prolonged walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the workday. Requires frequent lifting and moving of items up to and over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Typical Working Conditions: This job operates in a professional medical and office environment with frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration with occasional exposure to outside weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Sweeping and/or mopping floors, dusting furniture, cleaning walls, furniture, medical equipment, emptying trash, restocking supplies, cleaning bathrooms, exam rooms, waiting areas, etc.
• Ability to read and understand Standard English and be able to work with standard cleaning chemicals, understand operating instructions for cleaning equipment, materials, safety, and accident prevention.
• Working knowledge of cleaning materials and equipment.
• Ability to work well under stress, tight deadlines, and fast paced environment.
• Possess exceptional organizational and critical thinking skills.
• Display high level of confidentiality, integrity, and initiative.
• Follows policies and procedures.

Location & commitments

Part-time role with a typical work schedule of Monday-Friday, 5:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the assigned location(s). Occasional weekend work may be required, depending on the facility needs.

Overtime may be required to ensure patients are taken care of, tasks are completed, and calls are returned in a timely manner.

Candidate Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous housekeeping/cleaning experience in a healthcare setting and knowledge of applicable OSHA practice and infection control procedures for healthcare is strongly preferred. Individual must be able to work independently and schedule cleaning activities to meet the needs of patients, staff, physicians, and the public.
