Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System, part of Trinity Health, is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to create a sanitary, safe environment and enhance the appearance of the facility.

You will clean patient rooms daily, stock supplies, move furniture, assist with spills, and communicate with staff; HS diploma preferred; strong reading, math, and writing skills required.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate or GED preferred.
• Ability to clearly and respectfully communicate with patients, visitors, and colleagues and verbalize approved scripting.
• Reading, basic math and writing skills required.
• Knowledge of correct use of chemicals, dilution of chemicals, supplies, tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Cleans patient rooms and other assigned areas daily, including collecting and removing trash, changing bed linens and sanitizing all surfaces.
• Stocks paper items and other supplies in patient rooms as necessary or designated.
• Move furniture for repair or cleaning and set up meeting rooms.
• Assist in cleaning of emergency spills/floods that are observed or requested.
• Proactively communicates with all staff members in an accurate & timely manner.
• All other duties as assigned.

About the job:

In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors; the Technician - Environmental Services creates a sanitary, safe environment and enhances the appearance of the Facility.

What you will do:

For example: demonstrates friendliness and courtesy, effective communication creates a professional environment and provides first class service.

What we are looking for:

• Education: High School Graduate or GED preferred.

• Reading, basic math and writing skills required.

• Knowledge of the correct use of chemicals, dilution of chemicals, supplies, tools and equipment. When applicable, must also know proper use and procedures to operate the steam sterilizer, grinding/shredding system, waste compactor, recycling compactor and cardboard balers
