Job summary

Chandler Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to help maintain a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing care environment. You will interact with patients, visitors, and staff while ensuring timely room turnovers and adherence to infection prevention principles.

You will perform daily cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas, manage waste streams, and follow standard cleaning protocols to support patient experience and safety in a busy hospital

Responsibilities

• Complete daily occupied and discharge/transfer cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas, equipment, and other common areas
• Demonstrate knowledge of healthcare cleaning and disinfecting principles and safe chemical handling
• Maintain cleaning carts, supplies and equipment, and manage waste streams per regulatory procedures
• Follow infection prevention practices including hand hygiene, PPE donning/doffing, and isolation precautions

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Environmental Services Technician, you will help be responsible for executing the daily duties required to establish and maintain a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing care environment. While executing the assigned responsibilities, you will have contact/interactions with patients, visitors, and clinical and non-clinical staff. You will also be responsible for ensuring timely room turnovers related to patient throughout within the basic principles of environmental hygiene and infection prevention. The Environmental Services Technician, in accordance with organizational standards of quality, is an essential contributor to cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention and patient experience.

Every day you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic and aesthetically pleasing environment in a healthcare setting.

To be successful in this role, you must be proficient in cleaning and infection control protocols, prioritize safety and waste management, consistently follow all guidelines, maintain a strong work ethic, be accountable and communicate effectively.

• Responsible for completing as assigned, daily occupied and discharge/transfer cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas, equipment, and other common areas
• Performs duties while demonstrating a working knowledge of the health care cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements. Displays safe chemical use and equipment handling for all items within the healthcare environment
• Maintains cleaning cart(s), supplies, and equipment, as outlined in the Standard Work cart set up. Removes waste and transports to the appropriate disposal area while identifying proper waste stream handling (i.e. regulated medical, recycle, solid, and hazardous) in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements
• Follows all infection prevention practices, including but not limited to: proper cleaning and disinfection protocols, hand hygiene, standard and isolation precautions, proper donning and doffing of personal protective equipment (PPE)
