Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning routines for scheduled areas, including corners, baseboards, and windows.
• Conduct advanced floor care including spray cleaning and buffing of scheduled areas, move furniture when possible.
• Replenish disposable supplies daily (paper towels, soap, tissue, toilet paper).
• Follow hospital safety policies and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Operate, clean, handle, and store equipment properly.
• Picks up soiled linen according to daily schedule and distributes clean linen to designated areas.
• Assist the Director with ordering linen for the laundry department.

Job Description

The Environmental Services Technician ensures a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff at Shriners Hospital for Children, contributing directly to patient well-being and infection control.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform appropriate cleaning routine for scheduled areas as directed: cleans corners and baseboards, spot wipes walls, cleans interior and exterior windows of smudges. Bright work is clean and polished.
• Advanced floor care is performed including spray cleaning and buffing of all scheduled areas as directed, move furniture whenever possible.
• Supplies of disposables such as paper towels, soap, tissue and toilet paper are replenished daily.
• Has good knowledge of commonly used chemicals and cleaning supplies and uses proper mixing ratios indicated.
• Hospital Safety policies are followed, and unsafe conditions are reported to management.
• Equipment is operated, cleaned, handled and stored properly.
• Picks up soiled linen according to work schedule.
• Distributes clean linen to designated areas according to daily work schedule.
• Assists the Director with the ordering of all linen for the laundry department.

Required Qualifications

• 1-year Environmental services or laundry

The pay range for this position is $ XX.XX-XX.XX hourly Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
