Job summary

Methodist Specialty Care Center in Flowood, MS seeks a dedicated Environmental Services Technician I on a PRN basis to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities include routine cleaning, patient room turnover, waste handling, supply replenishment, and light maintenance.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and 1–2 years of housekeeping experience; healthcare EVS experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning using the 7-step cleaning procedure.
• Clean patient rooms, including isolation and discharge cleaning.
• Clean and disinfect assigned areas according to facility procedures.
• Handle and remove trash, biohazardous waste, and sharps containers according to established safety procedures.
• Replenish supplies such as paper products, soap, towels, batteries, and hand sanitizer.
• Perform light cleaning and maintenance duties, including cleaning inside light fixture covers and air-conditioning vents.
• Properly secure and maintain the Environmental Services cleaning cart.
• Use wet-floor signs and other safety equipment appropriately.
• Follow standard precautions and established infection-control and safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
