Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a housekeeper in Lehi, UT to perform general housekeeping duties, ensuring sanitary and safe conditions across the facility in line with Joint Commission standards. The role is 32 hours weekly, with a Friday through Monday 3pm–11:30pm shift, at Primary Children’s Lehi location.

Responsibilities include cleaning, proper chemical usage, waste disposal, and strict adherence to infection prevention practices.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated communication skills to differentiate color-coded labels and/or chemicals and follow written and/or verbal directions.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet the needs of the department.
  • Demonstrated professional housekeeping experience.
  • Preferred: prior housekeeping experience.

Job Description

This position is responsible for performing general housekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition and to meet hospital and Joint Commission standards.

32 hours / full time

Friday through Monday 3pm - 11:30pm

Essential Functions

Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures. Use cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards. Understand procedures and properly dispose of infectious waste and trash. Handle and clean up emergency spills per department guideline, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards. Follow all infection prevention practices (i.e. proper cleaning and disinfection protocols and process, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, as well as proper donning and doffing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)). Maintain work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety.

Physical Requirements

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs. Frequent interactions with customers require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use. Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
