Job summary

Northlake Behavioral Health System is seeking an Environmental Services Tech to join our team. This role maintains a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment throughout the facility while supporting infection prevention and patient safety initiatives.

Responsibilities include cleaning patient rooms and common areas, performing terminal cleans after discharge, sanitizing high-touch surfaces, and safely handling cleaning chemicals and waste.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in environmental services, housekeeping, custodial, or healthcare cleaning preferred.
• Ability to follow procedures, maintain attention to detail, and work independently.
• Reliable attendance and commitment to maintaining a safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, offices, common areas, restrooms, and other assigned areas.
• Perform terminal cleaning following patient discharge, transfer, or isolation precautions.
• Disinfect high-touch surfaces using approved cleaning products and procedures.
• Safely handle cleaning chemicals, equipment, regulated waste, and soiled linens.
• Maintain EVS carts, supplies, and equipment in a clean, organized, and secure manner.
• Respond to cleaning needs, spills, and environmental concerns promptly.
• Identify and report safety hazards, maintenance concerns, and environmental issues.
• Support a safe behavioral health environment by following facility safety procedures.
• Collaborate with team members and maintain professional interactions with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Perform assigned responsibilities during facility emergencies in accordance with organizational procedures.
