Job summary

Boyne Resorts is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to keep plazas, lodges, restrooms, and grounds clean and welcoming. You will perform cleaning, maintenance, and safety tasks while supporting guest comfort and operational efficiency, reporting to the Environmental Services Manager.

The role emphasizes proactive upkeep, hazard prevention, and teamwork, with wage range $21.00–$23.55/hr. It is non-benefited and includes basic sick leave and 401(k) participation with discretionary match

Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate clearly in English, verbally and in writing, with guests and coworkers.
  • Strong listening and problem-solving skills to understand and address guest and employee concerns.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize competing facility care duties in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, and remain active for the majority of the shift.
  • Willingness to safely handle toxic or caustic cleaning chemicals with proper training.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to cleaning equipment, supplies, and procedures to optimize efficiency.
  • Support proper waste sorting and removal procedures that advance environmental sustainability.
  • Perform comprehensive cleaning operations, including vacuuming, dusting, and carpet care, throughout base area facilities.
  • Maintain restrooms, loading bays, storage closets, and other specialized areas to the highest cleanliness and sanitation standards.
  • Keep the plaza guest-ready by sweeping, picking up litter, and making sure plaza furniture and tables are clean and set.
  • Check, empty, and maintain indoor and outdoor waste receptacles, sorting waste, recycling, and compost properly.
  • Complete end-of-night cleaning of the dining rooms after service, and assist with trash checks when needed.
  • Complete grounds maintenance, including mowing, weeding, and landscape care, to keep outdoor spaces inviting.
  • Maintain supply inventory and restock stations to support uninterrupted guest service.
  • Maintain cleanliness standards and promptly address potential hazards to protect guests and team members.
  • Provide assistance to other departments as needed during peak operations and special circumstances.
  • Respond right away to slip and trip hazards on the plaza and walkways with a shovel or sand, and support the Base Operations snow removal team on heavy snow days.

Overview

As part of the Base Operations team, the Environmental Services Technician maintains clean, safe, and welcoming plazas, lodges, restrooms, and grounds across their assigned base area. Reporting to the Environmental Services Manager, this role is the first line of defense for guest comfort, combining hands‑on cleaning with proactive facility care. The position exists to provide the best guest experience possible through a well‑kept plaza, clean restrooms, tidy waste receptacles, and general cleanliness, guest safety, and satisfaction. Success looks like consistently clean, well‑stocked, hazard‑free facilities and a team member who takes initiative on facility upkeep without being asked.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in hospitality, facility maintenance, or environmental services.

Wage and Benefit Info:

The wage range for this positions is: from $21.00 to $23.55/hr

This is a non-benefited role.

All individuals may contribute to the 401(k). An employee must work 1,000 hours in a calendar year to qualify for the discretionary match (there is a 2 year vesting cliff).

All individuals accrue sick time at 1 hour per 40 hours worked to a maximum of 64 hours per year.
