Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System's Hillcrest Hospital is seeking an Environmental Services Supervisor II to lead the EVS team in the evenings. You will oversee cleaning operations, ensure safety and quality, and support hospital-wide patient care standards.

As a caregiver, you will supervise staff, coordinate training, manage staffing, and continuously improve processes to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients and families at Mayfield Heights location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3 years of experience as a work leader, team lead or project manager OR 1 year supervisory experience in a related field OR a bachelor's degree.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the technical and administrative functions of the Environmental Services department.
• Act as a technical resource for team members.
• Implement goals consistent with assigned clinical and non-clinical units.
• Provide effective utilization of personnel, policies, and procedures to ensure a clean, safe, and attractive environment.
• Supervise caregivers in daily operations and evaluate performance.
• Continuously inspect assigned areas to ensure high quality of cleaning and maintenance.
• Maintain staffing levels.
• Approve and schedule paid time off and leave requests.
• Coordinate and provide orientation, education and training.
• Improve procedures and processes.
• Analyze workflow and procedures.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve speed, quality and effectiveness.

Cleveland Clinic’s Environmental Services Department is consistently among the highest-performing EVS teams in healthcare, and we’re looking to add an Environmental Services Supervisor to our team to create the comfortable and safe environment our patients have come to expect. The Supervisor role is crucial in supporting the mission and vision of Cleveland Clinic. By leading and managing a team effectively, a supervisor ensures that the organization’s standards for patient care, safety, and operational efficiency are met. A caregiver in this position works evenings, 3:00pm—11:30pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Ensure cross coverage.
• Coordinate and provide orientation, education and training.
• Improve procedures and processes.
• Analyze workflow and procedures.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve speed, quality and effectiveness.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• A high school diploma or GED
• Three years of experience as a work leader, team lead or project manager OR one year of supervisory experience in a related field OR a bachelor’s degree.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Previous environmental services or housekeeping experience
• Experience with Workday

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
• Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
• Ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
• Ability to perform duties while walking, standing, stooping and lifting.
