Our Environmental Services team plays a meaningful role in creating a safe, clean, and healing environment for patients, families, and staff—helping ensure every patient experience reflects the highest standards of care.
As a Lead, you’ll guide team members, uphold quality and safety standards, and contribute to MSK’s culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Assign and oversee daily work assignments, adjust schedules as needed, and provide regular updates on team performance, equipment status, and inventory. Oversee standardized cleaning procedures and ensure compliance with infection control and safety guidelines to protect patients, visitors, and staff. Ensure accurate handling, containment, and disposal of general and infectious waste, including chemicals, following hospital procedures. Demonstrate expert knowledge in chemical handling, including mixing, usage, storage, and labeling. Lead by example—training and mentoring Environmental Services staff to maintain departmental standards and procedures. Support departmental operations through participation in meetings, project assignments, and emergency response needs. Cover assignments as needed, dedicating at least 50% of scheduled time to direct coverage responsibilities. Provide occasional relief support at outpatient sites across NYC as required. Play a key role in providing Waste Management support at the Koch Center.
