Job summary

OhioHealth Environmental Services is seeking an Environmental Service Associate to help clean and maintain defined areas, provide customer service, and support hospital operations. You will work to keep patient rooms and public areas clean and follow safety and efficiency standards.

The role requires following departmental processes, operating cleaning equipment correctly, stocking supply carts, and handling storeroom tasks as needed, with a focus on high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• No Degree or Diploma required.
• 16- and 17-year-old individuals may be considered with valid work permit.
• 18-year-old individuals in high school do not need a high school diploma/GED/work permit to be considered.
• HS diploma/GED preferred for individuals over 18 and not in high school.

Responsibilities

• 40%: Executes cleaning or maintenance requests from the system, daily sheet, or verbal direction, including moving beds or furniture as needed and completes required paperwork.
• 20%: Follows directions and proper usage of all equipment; notifies area through work orders to keep equipment in good condition.
• 10%: Stocks carts and areas with linen as required.
• 10%: Willing to perform other duties including storeroom maintenance to meet cleanliness and safety standards.
• 20%: Delivers high levels of customer service across the OhioHealth organization, focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Job Description Summary:

Environmental Service Associates are dedicated to cleaning and maintaining defined areas of the organization. Provide customer service to all customers by cleaning and maintaining patient rooms, public areas and service areas by completing task that support departmental and organization processes.

Responsibilities And Duties:

• 40% Obtains assigned cleaning or maintenance request either from automated system, daily assignment sheet or verbal direction. Performs other functions required of the position, as assigned, which could include moving of beds or furniture required to service customers or execute the cleaning process. Must follow departmental/organizational processes to complete assigned duties. Must complete all paperwork needed to monitor departmental statistics.
• 20% Must follow direction and proper usage of all equipment used in job performance; to include cleanliness. Specific equipment will pertain to each job assignment. Notifies appropriate area through work order process and other defined paperwork to keep all equipment and misc. items throughout the hospital.
• 10% Keeps all assigned carts and areas stocked to appropriate operating levels. Linen distribution to be included in stocking of areas.
• 10% Must be willing to complete other duties as assigned including storeroom maintenance to meet hospital cleanliness and safety standards.
• 20% Used high level of Customer Service throughout the OhioHealth organization to the patient and all other customers. As a High Reliability Organization (HRO), responsibilities require focus on safety, quality and efficiency in performing job duties.
