Job summary

ScionHealth is seeking an environmental services worker to clean and service hospital areas, move furniture and supplies, and maintain a neat, safe, and sanitary environment.

The role includes cleaning duties across patient areas, restrooms and common spaces, proper disposal of waste, and assisting with logistics for meetings or events. Strong English and reliable attendance are required; prior acute care exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: previous acute care setting preferred.
• Must read, write and speak fluent English.
• Good attendance and reliable.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and services building areas and moves furniture, equipment and supplies.
• Cleans walls, doors, tile, fixtures, patient TVs and equipment with germicidal solutions.
• Sweeps, mops floors and vacuums carpets.
• Spot cleans carpet and maintains sanitary, odor-free conditions.
• Collects trash, sanitizes cans and disposal areas; handles hazardous waste if required.

Job description

Job Summary

Cleans and services building areas; moves furniture, equipment and supplies; and performs a variety of environmental services duties to maintain the hospital in a neat, safe and sanitary condition.

Essential Functions

• Selects cleaning materials/supplies and prepares cleaning solutions. Loads service cart and transports to work area.
• Cleans assigned area (including, but on limited to walls, doors, tile, fixtures, patient TVs and equipment) with germicidal cleaning solutions.
• Sweeps, mops floors and vacuums carpet.
• Spot cleans carpet using appropriate solutions.
• Cleans restrooms, vanity areas, showers and commodes, maintaining sanitary and odor free conditions. Replenishes essentials.
• Collects and removes trash, sanitizes all garbage cans and compactor area.
• May collect and transport hazardous waste in a special closed container for sterilization before disposal.
• May collect soiled linen and distribute clean linen.
• Arranges furniture for meetings, workshops and community affairs.
• Returns unused supplies to janitor closet ensuring all supplies are replaced in an orderly manner.

• Must read, write and speak fluent English to comprehend instructions of cleaning materials.
• Must have good and regular attendance.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• EducationHigh School Diploma or Equivalent including education equivalent to completion of secondary school or demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the role. (Preferred)

Pay Range: $23.00/hr.
