Chestnut Hill Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking an Environmental Services Aide to join our team. This role combines Housekeeping and Laundry responsibilities to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for residents.

Responsibilities include cleaning resident rooms, common areas, and managing laundry while adhering to infection prevention guidelines. Cross-training in both departments is available, with opportunities for career advancement and daily pay options.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous housekeeping and/or laundry experience preferred.
• Healthcare or long-term care experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of cleaning, sanitation, and infection prevention practices.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Housekeeping: Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas.
• Laundry: Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute resident clothing and facility linens.
• Cross-train and assist in both Housekeeping and Laundry departments as needed.
• Attend departmental meetings and required in-service training.
• Practice safe work habits and comply with OSHA and infection control policies.

What You'll Do

Housekeeping Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas.
• Sweep, vacuum, dust mop, wet mop, and disinfect floors.
• Clean furniture, fixtures, windows, mirrors, walls, ceilings, and other surfaces.
• Empty trash receptacles and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
• Refill soap, paper towels, toilet tissue, and hygiene dispensers.
• Prepare vacant resident rooms for new admissions.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Follow established cleaning schedules and infection control procedures.

Laundry Responsibilities

• Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute resident clothing and facility linens.
• Ensure resident clothing is properly labeled and returned to the appropriate resident.
• Treat stained laundry and follow proper handling procedures for specialty items.
• Monitor linen inventory and remove worn or damaged linens from circulation.
• Maintain an organized and sanitary laundry area.
• Clean lint traps and laundry equipment daily.
• Safely use laundry chemicals and supplies while following infection control guidelines.
• Assist with ironing or pressing linens and resident clothing as needed.

Additional Responsibilities

• Cross-train and assist in both Housekeeping and Laundry departments based on facility needs.
• Attend departmental meetings and required in-service training.
• Practice safe work habits and comply with all OSHA, infection control, and facility policies.
• Protect resident privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous housekeeping and/or laundry experience preferred.
• Healthcare or long-term care experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of cleaning, sanitation, and infection prevention practices.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
• Reliable attendance and a positive work ethic.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequent bending, stretching, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to push housekeeping and laundry carts throughout the facility.
• Ability to safely operate housekeeping and laundry equipment.
