Job summary

Encompass Health in Topeka, Kansas is seeking an Environmental Services Aide to maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe hospital environment. You will work closely with the clinical team to support patient recovery.

The ideal candidate should have a high school diploma or GED and ideally some housekeeping experience. This role requires good communication skills and the ability to operate cleaning equipment effectively. Flexible shifts may be required, including evenings and weekends.

• Utilize a variety of equipment—including high dusters, vacuums, mops, floor polishers, and other cleaning tools—to perform daily cleaning duties.
• Handle general office equipment and assist in maintaining a tidy work environment.
• Use good communication skills and a detail‑oriented approach to complete tasks efficiently.
• Work independently while meeting deadlines and expectations.
• Follow established guidelines and procedures for handling hazardous materials and potential exposure situations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience in housekeeping preferred.
• May be required to work weekdays and/or weekends, evenings and/or night shifts if needed.
