Signet Health is hiring Environmental Services/Housekeepers for the Permian Basin Behavioral Health Center in Midland, TX. This hourly position requires varying days/hours, including weekends/holidays, and potentially day, evening, or night shifts to ensure hospital operations.

Overtime is possible but not scheduled. Jobs involve lifting up to 50 lbs, working in extreme temperatures, and using potentially hazardous chemicals.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED diploma.
  • Two plus years of related experience - preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Collects dirty linens from units; uses industrial washer and dryer to wash hospital linens according to hospital standards.
  • Operates mechanical floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, snow blowers, shampooers and related environmental service equipment.
  • Wet-mops rooms, halls and other areas; shampoos rugs and furniture.
  • Cleans vents, fan fixtures, top of windows, doorframes and other high areas using a ladder.
  • Moves furniture and other heavy objects as required.
  • Performs terminal cleaning procedures of patient rooms and prepares rooms for new occupants; follows isolation procedures in isolation rooms.
  • Makes supply packs for departments and puts linen stacks in carts for distribution.
  • Keeps records of linen distribution by department; checks floor linens supplies and lists linen use by department.
  • Shovels snow at all exits and ramps.
  • Assists with evacuations when needed.

Overview

Signet Health is hiring for Environmental Services/Housekeepers for our program at Permian Basin Behavioral Health Center, Midland Texas.

This is an hourly position. Days and hours of work may vary and will include weekends and/or holidays. May involve day, evening and/or night shifts to assure the continuous, and safe, operation of the hospital. Overtime is not scheduled but may occur. As a general rule, schedule will reflect coverage to include full seven-day schedule.

May involve prolonged standing with frequent bending, stooping, and reaching over the head. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Pushing and pulling heavy objects weighing 75 lbs. May be subjected to extreme temperature changes when working inside and outside of the building environment. Sufficient emotional maturity to accept adverse comments and criticism while working and respond in a positive manner.

EMPLOYEE MAY BE REQUIRED TO USE EQUIPMENT AND/OR CHEMICALS THAT MAY BE POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS.

The Environmental Service Worker maintains environmental and infection control standards within the facility. The position performs a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways and other assigned areas of the facility.
