Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Service Worker – Heavy to maintain floors, clean patient areas, and handle linen with strict adherence to infection control policies in our Miami area facilities.

The role requires floor care experience and the ability to follow hospital procedures. Our team emphasizes safety, efficiency, and reliability in a busy healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in floor care, linen handling, or facility operations in healthcare, hotel, or industrial settings.

Responsibilities

• Strips, waxes & maintains tile floors throughout the medical center.
• Cleans corners and baseboards when stripping floors.
• Keeps janitor closets clean; ensures equipment is properly stored.
• Uses chemicals safely and dilutes them as directed.
• Manages waste and soil linens following Infection Control policy.
• Transports soiled linen to designated areas with universal precautions.
• Follows hand hygiene and infection control protocols.
• Assists Laundry with loading/unloading clean/soiled linen carts.

We welcome all healthcare professionals to join our thriving community and contribute to our pursuit for clinical excellence.**Department:**CC018502 Westchester EVS**Job Description Summary:**## Position Responsibilities* Strips, waxes & maintains tile floors throughout the medical center.* Cleans corners and baseboards when stripping floors.* Ensures that janitor closets are kept cleaned and equipment is replaced in proper location.* Demonstrates knowledge of correct use and appropriate dilution of chemicals. Responsible for economical use of supply as controlled through distribution.* Demonstrates knowledge of hard surface floor care, and carpet. Dust, damp mopping and burnishing/buffing as evident on observation.* Accepts special cleaning assignments and completes promptly and thoroughly. As evident by adhere meeting hospital and departmental needs.* Attends and participates in monthly department staff meetings staff development programs when scheduled. Is responsible for all information communicated at the meetings.* Demonstrates efficient use of time as evident by completion of projects that are assigned.
