Job summary

Goodwill of North Georgia is hiring a janitorial associate to keep our facilities clean and safe across our Griffin team location. You will perform dusting, mopping, restroom cleaning, floor care and waste disposal while noting equipment repair needs and maintaining supplies.

The role requires basic cleaning knowledge, reliable attendance, and the ability to follow written and oral instructions. A High School Diploma or GED is preferred, with one year of janitorial experience helpful.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education preferred.
• One year of housekeeping, janitorial, or custodian experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment preferred.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with supervisor and staff.

Responsibilities

• Dusting, mopping, sweeping, and damp mopping tile floors.
• Dust and clean walls, doors, windows and other surfaces above floor.
• Dust, clean and polish store fixtures.
• Perform manual tasks requiring moderate physical strength with cleaning equipment.
• Maintain and keep building exterior clean from debris.
• Empty trash from offices and other areas and dispose appropriately.
• Ensure cleanliness of restrooms and replenish supplies.
• Notify supervisor of equipment and facilities needing repair.
• Comply with ISO processes and company safety policies.
• Perform other related janitorial work as required.

What you'll be doing:

• Responsible for dusting, mopping, sweeping, and damp mopping tile floors
• Dust and clean walls, doors, windows and other surfaces above floor
• Dust, clean and polish store fixtures
• Perform manual tasks requiring moderate physical strength which may include the use of buffers, floor scrubbers, and other cleaning equipment deemed necessary to perform the daily duties of the position
• Maintain and keep building exterior clean from debris
• Empty trash from offices and other assigned areas and place in designated areas for disposal
• Ensure the cleanliness of all restrooms and replenishes supplies as needed
• Notify supervisor of equipment and facilities needing repair or replacement
• Comply with Goodwill of North Georgia's International Organization for Standardization (ISO) process and the agency's safety and security policies and procedures
• Perform other related janitorial work as required and/or instructed

Requirements & Qualifications:

Working Environment Conditions/ Requirements:

• Must be able to meet all physical requirements to perform the duties of the position including the ability to bend, reach, grasp, stand and/or walk for extended periods of time as well as the ability to push, pull and lift up to 30lbs with or without accommodation
• Must be able to work in all types of conditions including heat, cold and dust
