Job summary

ECS Group of Companies (ECS) seeks an Environmental Senior Project Manager to lead environmental consulting projects from proposal through closeout. You will provide technical leadership, client management, and staff development while ensuring safe, profitable delivery in line with ECS standards.

The role requires 5 years of related experience and advanced degrees in engineering or environmental sciences, with licensing potential within three months.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Natural or Environmental Science, Geology, or other related field
  • Ability to obtain a local license through reciprocity within three months of hire date
  • Extensive knowledge of environmental principles, regulations, and consulting practices
  • Extensive knowledge of permitting requirements and environmental investigation methodologies
  • Excellent project management and consulting skills
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities
  • Strong financial management and budgeting skills
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously

Responsibilities

  • Manage asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, and indoor air quality projects
  • Review field documentation and project deliverables
  • Oversee remediation and abatement activities
  • Lead client meetings and communicate findings and recommendations
  • Direct subcontractors and technical field personnel
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and technical quality across projects
  • Perform Phase I Environmental Site Assessments independently
  • Review Phase I ESA reports prepared by junior staff
  • Oversee project scheduling, execution, reporting, and closeout
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to clients and Principals
  • Perform detailed technical reviews of reports and conclusions
  • Lead and mentor junior staff and support professional development
  • Manage environmental consulting projects from proposal through closeout
  • Serve as primary client contact for assigned projects
  • Maintain and expand client relationships and business opportunities
  • Manage project budgets, profitability, invoicing, and collections
  • Review and approve project change orders and budgeting adjustments
  • Schedule, train, and oversee staff assigned to projects

Responsibilities

The Environmental Senior Project Manager is responsible for the successful execution of environmental consulting projects from proposal development through project closeout and collection. This role provides technical leadership, project oversight, client management, staff development, and financial accountability across multiple projects. The Environmental Senior Project Manager serves as the primary client contact on assigned projects, mentors technical staff, and ensures projects are delivered safely, profitably, and in accordance with company standards while demonstrating ECS Core Values.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's of Science in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Natural or Environmental Science, Geology, or other degree relevant to the practice of Environmental Consulting
  • Must have the ability to obtain a local license through reciprocity within three months of hire date
    • Additional licensure or certifications may be required depending on the type of work performed
  • Extensive knowledge of environmental principles, regulations, and consulting practices
  • Extensive knowledge of permitting requirements and environmental investigation methodologies
  • Excellent project management and consulting skills
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities
