Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) seeks an Environmental Senior Project Manager/Principal in Pittsburgh to lead client relationships and manage diverse environmental projects, including assessments, subsurface investigations, remediation, and permitting.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in environmental consulting with 10+ years in project management
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or related field
• PE or PG license is a plus
• Thorough understanding of state and federal environmental regulations (e.g., RCRA, Act 2, CERCLA, CWA)
• Experience in environmental site assessment and remediation, data interpretation, and client communication
• Experience managing projects, budgeting, cost control, and deadlines
• Experience supervising technical staff
• Proposal development experience (scope, budget, schedule) and client management
• Established clients/contacts in Real Estate, Oil & Gas, Mining, Power, Public Sector, Waste Management, and/or Manufacturing markets
• Groundwater modeling experience a plus

Overview

As an Environmental Senior Project Manager/Principal at Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), in our Pittsburgh, PA offices, you will be responsible for managing current clients and developing new business. You will manage project teams tasked with providing a variety of environmental services to our clients, such as environmental assessments, subsurface investigations, soil and water remediation projects, and environmental permitting and compliance. You will provide senior direction on projects for real estate, manufacturing, public sector, oil and gas, electric power generation/transmission, and/or waste management clients and will provide quality assurance reviews of work products produced by others. You will be directly responsible for developing proposals and project budgets; ensuring compliance with CEC's safety policies; managing technical staff, project financials, and subcontractors; performing quality assurance duties and project-related administrative tasks; performing data evaluation and interpretation; preparing reports; and driving business development efforts. In this role, you will directly interact with clients, contractors, laboratories, and regulators.

Senior Project Managers/Principals at CEC partner with management to mentor and assist in the professional development of staff, including the completion of annual performance reviews and assisting staff with the establishment of professional development goals. Concurrently, management will work with you to support your individual career goals through a variety of professional development and mentoring activities aimed at developing the project management, leadership, and business development skills needed to succeed and grow your career at CEC.

Qualifications

• 15+ years experience in environmental consulting, with minimum of 10 years of experience in Project Management
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or related field
• Professional Engineering License (P.E.) or Professional Geologist (PG) is a plus
• Thorough understanding of state and federal environmental regulations (e.g., RCRA, Act 2, CERCLA, CWA, etc.)
• Thorough understanding of environmental site assessment and remediation, and ability to interpret data, communicate findings from site assessment activities to clients, and make recommendations relevant to project objectives
• Demonstrated experience managing projects, budgeting and performing cost control, and achieving deadlines
• Demonstrated experience supervising technical staff
• Experience in proposal development (scope of service, budget and schedule), and demonstrated ability to manage projects safely and efficiently
• Participation in both client- and professional development-based organizations
• Established clients/contacts in the Real Estate, Oil & Gas, Mining, Power, Public Sector, Waste Management, and/or Manufacturing markets
• Demonstrated business development and client management experience required
• Groundwater modeling experience a plus
