• Biologists in the Environmental Scientist 1 track may need specific biology coursework or licensure.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections/investigations of equipment, structures, materials, and sites to ensure compliance with laws and standards.
• Enforce standards and take corrective action; oversee environmental sampling and review records.
• Prepare permits, designs, maps, and reports in a concise, legally defensible manner; communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Perform environmental sampling, monitoring, and field/lab work under demanding conditions to determine compliance.
• Maintain, calibrate, and inventory scientific equipment and supplies.
