Job summary

EnviroServices & Training Center in Hawai‘i seeks an experienced environmental project manager to lead project timelines, budgets, and client communications, coordinating with regulators and sub-consultants.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, or related field.
  • 5–10 years of direct experience, with 2+ years as project/program manager.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team; manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to conduct site visits to diverse locations as described in the posting.
  • Proficient with PC and MS Office.
  • Valid Hawai‘i driver’s license, vehicle, and insurance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; customer-service oriented.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organization and time management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Project Management & Client Relations: drive timelines, budgets, and scope as the main client contact.
  • Apply regulatory expertise & historical research to support environmental site assessments.
  • Execute field operations & sample management per protocols for remediation projects.
  • Analyze data, generate CAD/GIS figures, and author technical reports.
  • Develop site plans and contractor specifications detailing technical requirements.
  • Supervise and mentor team members to maintain quality and growth.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead Project Management & Client Relations: Drive project timelines, budgets, and scope deliverables while acting as the primary point of contact for clients, regulatory bodies, and sub-consultants.
  • Apply Regulatory Expertise & Historical Research: Utilize deep knowledge of federal, state, and county regulations while researching government agency records to support environmental site assessments.
  • Execute Field Operations & Sample Management: Collect, preserve, package, and transport multi-media samples to analytical laboratories in strict accordance with protocols for compliance and remediation projects.
  • Analyze Data & Author Technical Deliverables: Validate laboratory analytical data, generate CAD/GIS figures, and author comprehensive technical reports communicating investigation findings.
  • Develop Site Plans & Contractor Specifications: Draft site-specific operational plans that outline project activities and specify clear technical requirements for contractors.
  • Supervise & Mentor Team Members: Train, guide, and oversee less experienced project staff across field and reporting duties to maintain quality standards and promote professional growth.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, or other physical science from an U.S.-accredited four-year college or university.
  • Five to ten years of direct experience in activities described above, with at least two of those years in the role of project or program manager.
  • Able to work independently and in a team setting, organize/manage multiple priorities, and conduct problem analysis/resolution.
  • Able to conduct site visits and collect data at a variety of locations, including residences, schools, construction sites, commercial/industrial facilities, secured government facilities, chemically-contaminated sites, and/or undeveloped or agricultural land with challenging topography, conditions, and climates.
  • Proficient with PC and MS Office.
  • Valid Hawai‘i drivers’ license, vehicle, and vehicle insurance
  • Strong reading comprehension, technical writing skills, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic with customer service-oriented attitude
  • Detail-oriented with strong organization and time management skills
