Job summary

EnSafe is seeking an Environmental Field Team Lead to join our Jacksonville, FL team. The role focuses on leading field activities, overseeing investigations, and coordinating with clients and regulators onsite while ensuring compliance with EPA and state SOPs.

The ideal candidate will have a BS in geology or related field and 3–6 years of environmental field experience, with emphasis on drilling, sampling, and site assessments.

Qualifications

  • BS in Geology or related field; 3–6 years environmental field experience.
  • Preference for EIT or GIT; ability to obtain PE or PG license.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel; excellent written and verbal communication; strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, schedule, and lead field and O&M activities.
  • Conduct site investigations including drilling, monitoring wells, downhole geophysics, and sampling per SOPs.
  • Assist Project Managers with CERCLA, RCRA projects.
  • Assist in preparation of proposals, estimates, work plans, and technical reports.
  • Interface with clients, regulators, and subcontractors onsite.
  • Develop technical recommendations for site assessment and remediation, understanding regulations.

EnSafe is accepting applications for an Environmental Scientist/Geologist/ Field Team Lead to join our team in Jacksonville, FL.

Successful Candidates must be willing to work onsite, in our Jacksonville, FL office. Relocation assistance is available to meet this expectation.

What We Are Looking For:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Field Team Lead to support a diverse range of environmental projects. The ideal candidate will be eager to contribute to site investigations, feasibility studies, and implementation of remedial solutions for both traditional and emerging contaminants, including PFAS and other complex environmental challenges.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Planning, organizing, scheduling, and leading field and operations and maintenance (O&M) activities.
  • Conducting site investigation activities including; drilling, monitoring well installations, downhole geophysics, sampling (soil, groundwater, indoor air, soil gas, sediment, surface water, stormwater, drinking water, building materials, and biota) according to FDEP and EPA SOPs.
  • Assisting Project Managers with CERCLA, RCRA projects in various stages.
  • Assisting in the preparation of project proposals, estimates, work plans, and technical reports.
  • Interacting and interfacing with clients, regulators, and subcontractors onsite
  • Assisting in the development of technical recommendations for site assessment and remediation activities.
  • Understanding of local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
What You Will Need:
  • Minimum of a BS in Geology or Hydrogeology, Civil, Mechanical, Environmental Engineering, or an Environmental related science.
  • Minimum of 3-6 years of environmental experience, including oversight of contractors, air, soil, groundwater, wastewater sampling and drilling, field project planning, and execution.
  • Professional registration, certification, GID, geotechnical, and/or geophysics experience are a plus.
  • Preferred: EIT or GIT, and the ability to obtain a PE or PG license.
  • Outstanding proficiency in Microsoft Programs, including Word and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. throughout the day.
  • Possess current 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification and 8-hour refreshers.
  • Valid driver’s license to operate a vehicle in the U.S.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain background clearance.
  • Regional travel up to 20% on an annual basis, including overnight/weekends.
