Job summary

Apex Companies is hiring an Environmental Scientist 1 in Urbandale, IA to support field programs across Iowa and the Midwest. You will collect environmental samples, assist with site investigations, and ensure compliance on diverse projects.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or related field with 1–3+ years of field sampling. A 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is required, and strong writing and data management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or related field.
• 1-3+ years of environmental field sampling and data collection.
• Strong technical writing skills and ability to multi-task with safety awareness.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is required.
• Light construction experience/hands-on skills are a plus.
• Experience with data management and report preparation.
• Valid driver's license with good driving history and reliable transportation.
• Strong communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform emergency response activities for pipeline and C Store clients throughout the Midwest.
