  • Preferred: OSHA 30 hr Construction Certification.
  • Preferred: OSHA Site Supervisor Certification.
  • Preferred: SHA 24-hour New Miner Training.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in all aspects of site investigation and remediation projects.
  • Communicate and work closely with project teams, clients, and regulatory agencies.
  • Perform fieldwork including drilling oversight for soil sampling and groundwater well installation, sampling, excavation oversight, emergency response, and operation of remediation systems.
  • Assist with writing and preparing technical reports, work plans, letters and memoranda.
  • Office tasks include data compilation and interpretation, cost estimates, safety plan preparation, report writing, regulatory file review, and proposal writing.
  • Conduct project-related research (historical data, regulations, etc.).
  • Prepare periodic status/program reports.
  • Analyze and interpret field data and supervise subcontractors.

Role description:

Arcadis is seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our team in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role has a significant field component and the candidate selected will show a willingness to travel and perform field work.

In this role, you will assist technical project teams and managers supporting clients on projects that span from site investigations, excavations, emergency response, operations and maintenance to remediation activities. Your responsibilities will include office and field work. Field work will often be performed at project sites with environmental media (e.g., soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, etc.) that has been impacted with hazardous substances and/or hazardous wastes.

Role accountabilities:
  • Participate in all aspects of site investigation and remediation projects
  • Communicate and work closely with project teams, clients, and regulatory agencies
  • Perform fieldwork which may include drilling oversight for soil sampling and/or groundwater well installation, groundwater sampling, excavation oversight, emergency response, operation and maintenance of remediation systems, and vapor intrusion/soil gas surveys
  • Assisting with writing and preparing technical reports, work plans, letters, and memorandum
  • Office work may include task coordination, data compilation and interpretation, cost estimates, health & safety plan preparation, report writing, regulatory file review, proposal writing, project strategy development, schedule and budget
  • Conduct project-related research (historical data, regulations, etc.)
  • Prepare periodic status/program reports
  • Analyze and interpret field data and subcontractor oversight

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.

The salary range for this position is $58,320 - $87,480.
