Who are we looking for?

As a Project Manager at GHD, you will mentor and guide the team and take the reins in environmental emergencies. You will collaborate closely with clients and agencies to ensure effective response and resolution. Your role includes business development and client expansion activities. You must have 5+ years of project management experience, a proven track record in emergency response, client relationship management, and business development.

Responsibilities

Accountable for one or more medium‑sized projects of low to moderate complexity with a small‑ to medium‑sized team. Focus on project vision, planning, implementation, reporting, and performance. Key responsibilities include:

  • Document Preparation: Prepare moderately complex documents and summarize data for reports.
  • Stakeholder Management: Plan and deliver stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Personal Capability Building: Pursue training, coaching, and external accreditation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Generate ideas to improve existing operations.
  • Work Scheduling and Allocation: Assign short‑term work schedules to team members.
  • Project Assurance: Conduct and facilitate assurance reviews.
  • Project Scope Definition: Manage delivery of workshops and activities to support deliverables.
  • Project Planning: Produce workstream or project plans.
  • Project Reporting and Review: Draft project review reports and presentations.
  • Project Resource Management: Manage resource deployment and project costs.
  • Project Risk and Issue Management: Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks and issues.
  • Project Closeout and Handover: Draft documentation and support handover to business as usual.
  • Project Team Management: Lead a small project team, coordinate tasks, and build capability.
  • Requirements Management: Coordinate identification, analysis, and documentation of requirements.
  • Respond to call‑outs during non‑routine working hours.
  • Act as the first point of contact for clients for new emergency projects, delegating tasks as needed.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or a related field
Experience
  • General Experience: 3 to 6 years to advise others in most situations.
  • Managerial Experience: 7 to 12 months of supervision.
  • Experience in emergency preparedness, air monitoring, environmental assessment/sampling, ICs, SCAT, PHMSA.
  • Experience with railroad and pipeline related emergencies is a plus.

Salary: $68,888.00 – $114,813.00, varies based on location and experience.
