Job summary

Audubon Companies is seeking an Environmental Planner/Scientist to coordinate, implement, and complete projects in alignment with company strategy and goals. You will support project managers during execution and ensure deliverables meet standards while maintaining proper documentation.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years in planning/scientist roles; wetland certification is a plus, and experience in linear surveys is preferred.

• Preferred: Wetland certificate.
• Minimum of 5 years of industry related experience as a planner/scientist or similar role.
• Experience Preferred: 5 years of linear survey experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, implement, execute, and complete projects aligned with company strategy and goals.
• Provide project support to project managers during execution.
• Maintain project documents, QA procedures, and timely responses to requests.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Finance, and Accounting to meet customer expectations.
• Mentor team members, lead internal teams, and identify areas for process improvement.
• Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.

Job description

Accountable for the coordination, implementation, execution, and completion of assigned projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals. Reports to the Senior Project Manager. The successful Environmental Planner/Scientist will provide project support to project managers during the execution of projects.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Familiarity with natural resources permitting at the federal and state level
• Familiarity with surveys required to successfully complete project permitting
• Experience conducting wetland delineations and habitat surveys
• Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
• Prepares deliverables and permit applications.
• Effectively applies Audubon methodology and enforces project standards.
• Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.
• Minimizes our exposure and risk on project.
• Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
• Remains completely accessible to the project manager during life of project, ensuring specific requests are process timely and appropriately.
• Participates as a contributing member of assigned Business Unit.
• Assist Sr. PM and other members of the Project Management Team in project completion
• Consistently acknowledges and appreciates each team member's contributions.
• Motivates team to work together in the most efficient manner.
• Keeps track of lessons learned and shares those lessons with team members.
• Mitigates team conflict and communication problems.
• Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
• Leads and/or acts as a member of internal teams/task forces.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree AND 5-7+ years of experience.
