Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Reston, Virginia is seeking Environmental Science students to join our office in 2027. This is not a remote position.

You will work closely with project managers, solve complex problems, and collaborate across disciplines to help deliver our clients' visions for the built environment while gaining exposure to regulatory processes. The role offers learning in natural resource regulations, wetlands, botany and soils, ecology, wildlife biology, GIS, and includes travel and fieldwork

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology or Environmental Science.

Responsibilities

  • Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce clients' visions for the future built environment.
  • Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn's and our client's practices, procedures, and standards.
  • Gain knowledge in natural resource regulations, water quality regulatory programs, wetlands identification including botany and soil science and experience in ecology, wildlife biology, water resources, GIS, and environmental science.
  • Some travel and fieldwork may be required (approximately 10-30%).
