Job summary

SUNY Brockport’s Department of Environmental Science and Ecology is seeking adjunct faculty for anticipated part-time openings for the 2026-2027 academic year. The position emphasizes teaching core courses in environmental science and ecology, with responsibilities including lecture/lab instruction, grading, and student mentoring.

The work schedule is variable and compensation includes a $5,500 stipend per 3-credit course.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or a professional degree in a related field by time of appointment from an accredited institution.
• Expertise in subject matter.

Responsibilities

• Teach and instruct lecture and/or lab coursework (core curriculum).
• Grade all coursework and maintain clear records.
• Hold office hours for at least 4 hours per week.
• Incorporate experiential and hands-on education where appropriate.
• Develop effective course materials.
• Help students achieve learning outcomes.
