Job summary

SAE Institute is seeking an Environmental Science Adjunct Instructor to teach General Education and program courses using a student-centered active education approach. You will contribute to curriculum development, advise students, and participate in campus events while maintaining compliance with SAE policies and procedures.

The role supports diverse learners and requires a master’s (with appropriate credits) or a relevant bachelor’s with additional credentials and 4 years of industry

Qualifications

• Minimum of a master’s degree with 18 semester credits or 24 quarter credits in the course area.
• For Diploma/Associate programs: bachelor’s degree and 4 years of industry experience; credential in field if bachelor’s not in field.
• In rare cases, exception by Chief Academic and Compliance Officer with progress toward bachelor’s degree during approved period.

Responsibilities

• Teach classes as assigned in accordance with SAE policies and procedures.
• Deliver instruction aligned with the Student-Centered Active Education model.
• Establish a classroom environment conducive to learning and student engagement.
• Support campus events such as workshops, new student orientation, and graduation as requested.
• Maintain accurate attendance, submit grades on time, and enforce SAE policies and procedures.
• Plan and prepare for classes and develop activities that support learning outcomes.
• Advise and support absent and high-risk students, documenting contacts.
• Complete annual faculty development to improve instructional delivery and diverse-learner support.
• Maintain instructor eligibility per federal, state, and accreditation regulations.
• Abide by all SAE policies and procedures; for some roles, supervise makeup sessions and provide tutoring/advising as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
