Job summary

• Communicate with Federal and State Environmental agencies on remediation efforts as required.
• Schedule and Conduct Emergency Response Drills.

Job Objectives:

Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections. Develops health and safety procedures for all area of the company. Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics. Monitors compliance with safety procedures and reporting. Provide high-level environmental response and safety protocols that protect our associates, our customers, and the public. Essential Job Functions:

• Work to secure EPA Smartway.


• Develop and implement HAZWOPER training programs.


• Perform Incident Management duties, post incident for service failures requiring mediation.


• Prepare daily reports on large incidents and submit to Vice President of Legal Services.


• Communicate with Federal and State Environmental agencies on remediation efforts as required.


• Schedule and Conduct Emergency Response Drills.

• Review invoices submitted by third-party vendors for remediation services provided to UPT.


• Submit necessary reports to Federal and/or State environmental agencies, on behalf of UPT, concerning remediation efforts.


• Collect and test soil samples.


• Support Regional Safety Managers in performance of their duties.


• Assist the Vice President of Legal Services on development and implementation of HSSE programs.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Carries out duties assigned by Vice President of Legal Services as required.


• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications for Consideration:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field.


• Five years of related experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.


• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.


• Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.

Physical Requirements:

• Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.


• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.


• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.


• Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds).

Working Conditions:

• Normal office environment.


• Up to 50% travel.
