Job summary

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is seeking a Restoration Crew Supervisor to lead environmental restoration activities and implement adaptive management strategies at compensatory mitigation and roadside sites. You will supervise field crews, support regulatory compliance and safety, assess conditions, and coordinate with regional and HQ staff to deliver reliable projects.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates applied knowledge of ecological restoration and environmental mitigation principles.
• Independently evaluate site conditions, monitor information, and project results.
• Apply environmental laws, permits, and best practices to restoration activities.
• Evaluate field conditions and data; interpret maps and plans.
• Plan, prioritize, and monitor multiple restoration activities; coordinate resources.
• Provide direction, coaching, and feedback to field staff; ensure safety.

Responsibilities

• Independently plan, coordinate, and conduct restoration activities at mitigation and roadside sites.
• Review safety records, logs, and herbicide application records for accuracy.
• Maintain electronic database of daily restoration activities and records.
• Meet with field lead on planning and updates about site conditions.
• Plan adaptive management strategies statewide for environmental sites.
• Coordinate with HQ and region managers, landscape architects, and biologists.
• Prepare and present graphics for proposed and completed projects.
• Operate equipment and assist in warehouse or facilities operations.
• Drive vehicles and trailer operations as needed; use off-road equipment.
