Job summary

Southwest Florida Water Management District is offering an Environmental Resource Permit Student Intern position in the Tampa area. The role provides real work experience assisting engineers in ERP evaluation and compliance activities, with on-site field and office duties.

Typical workweeks are up to 25 hours, Monday through Friday, primarily near Tampa. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited program and meet GPA and licensing requirements; travel within the district may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university.
• Maintain minimum GPA: 2.5 undergrad or 3.0 graduate.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Research files of record for ERP evaluations.
• Assist engineers with monitoring application and compliance tracking.
• Review submissions for 62-330 FAC compliance.
• Generate correspondence via the Water Management Information System.
• Make site visits to document permit compliance.

Education

GPA requirements: undergrad 2.5 / grad 3.0

Valid driver’s license
