Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking an Environmental Scientist in New York to support our Environmental Compliance, Investigation, and Remediation team. You will collect data from air, soil, and groundwater, interpret regulations, and help prepare reports and proposals.

On-site work and short travel are expected. Responsibilities include leading field teams, developing plans, and supporting client relations across active and orphan sites under federal, state, and local regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in environmental sciences, geology, or a related environmental field.
• Minimum of 2–7 years in environmental consulting, compliance, or remediation.
• Experience with NYSDEC regulations and strong communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to work independently or on a team.

Responsibilities

• Interpret federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
• Collect data from air, soil, groundwater; manage field teams as needed.
• Develop technical plans, schedules, and cost estimates for proposals.
• Support client relationships and business development activities.
• Review technical data, prepare reports and permit applications.
