The City of Grand Prairie, Environmental Quality Division, is seeking a diligent Environmental Technician to monitor water and wastewater quality under the Clean Water Act and Safe Drinking Water Act. The role involves field sampling, report writing, record keeping, and participating in investigations; duties also include pool inspections and vector control activities.
You will collect drinking water, wastewater, stream water, and soil samples, document chain of custody, and ensure compliance
The primary duty of this position is to monitor water and wastewater quality in the City in accordance with the Clean Water Act and the Safe Drinking Water Act. This is accomplished by completing environmental sampling; preparing reports and maintaining records; assisting with environmental investigations; and inspecting swimming pools. Other duties include performing vector control activities; completing cross connection inspections; and interacting with other City employees and citizens
