Job summary

Terraphase Engineering Inc. is seeking a Senior/Associate Project Manager in Oakland/ Pleasanton, CA to independently manage environmental site investigation and remediation projects.

You will lead characterization, RI/FS efforts, engage with regulators, and guide multi-disciplinary teams to deliver timely, compliant results. The role requires California licensure (PE/PG), 7–15 years of experience, strong writing and communication skills, and a robust safety mindset.

Qualifications

• 7–15 years of environmental consulting experience.
• CA-licensed professional engineer or professional geologist.
• OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER with refresher.
• Strong health and safety awareness and culture.
• Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
• Hands-on remediation experience (in-situ/ex-situ).
• Experience managing projects with budgets of $200k+.
• Comfortable interacting with regulators and clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead characterization, RI/FS and remediation projects.
• Coordinate field efforts, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Ensure deliverables meet regulatory standards (RCRA, DTSC, CERCLA, RWQCB, SWRCB).
• Maintain clear communication with clients, regulators, and stakeholders.
• Use Terraphase project management software to track tasks.
• Manage project finances, scope changes, and invoicing.
