Job summary

Terracon is seeking an Environmental Project Manager to join our Nashville, TN office. This role will manage environmental due diligence projects and regulatory compliance initiatives, ensuring delivery on time and within scope and budget.

Responsibilities include leading project planning, coordinating staff and resources, reporting to clients, and maintaining safety practices. A degree in engineering or sciences plus related experience is required; a valid driver’s license may be needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or Geology with 5+ years of environmental consulting experience (9+ years if no degree).
  • Valid driver’s license may be required.
  • Experience managing Phase I ESAs, stormwater inspections, compliance auditing, SPCC plans and TRI/Tier II reporting.

  • Design and implement a project plan for completing the project.
  • Lead safety efforts and ensure safety plan compliance.

  • Set priorities and assign tasks to project staff.
  • Coordinate with Senior Reviewer for oversight and with accounting for invoicing and collections.

Job description

Terracon is seeking an Environmental Project Manager to join our Nashville, TN office. This individual will manage all aspects of environmental due diligence projects and regulatory compliance projects to ensure that it is safely completed on time and within scope and budget. Projects may include Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, stormwater inspections, compliance auditing, SPCC plans, and TRI/Tier II reporting. They will also prepare applicable permit applications and technical documents including proposals, reports and regulatory agency correspondence. Additionally, they will be responsible for completing the project as per its contracted scope; monitor progress and performance against the project plan. Conduct meetings and prepares reports to communicate the status of the project-to-project team and client. Set priorities, assign tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet project targets and milestones. May have responsibilities to communicate with the client and deliver work products to satisfaction of client.

Responsibilities
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of a small to medium sized project.
  • Works with client or account manager to define project scope, schedule and budget.
  • Design, communicate, and implement a project plan for completing the project.
  • Leads safety efforts including preparation and compliance with approved safety plan.
  • Take action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays.
  • Identify, develop, and gather the resources to complete the project. This may include developing project schedules, budgets and forecasts; and selecting project staff, and external contractors.
  • Partner with other departments or offices to secure specialized resources for the project.
  • Conduct meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project.
  • Set priorities, assign tasks, and coordinates project staff to meet project targets and milestones.
  • Coordinates with Senior Reviewer to ensure appropriate oversight is in place and sufficient time allowed for reviews of all critical junctures.
  • Coordinates with accounting for financial management of business intelligence, invoicing and collections
  • Lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines. Responsible for creating and modeling a safe work environment; demonstrates safety practices. Promote pre-task planning for all projects.
Qualifications
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or Geology and a minimum of 5 years’ environmental consulting experience. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 9 years’ related experience.
  • A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.
