Job summary

California Department of Toxic Substances Control is seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our Sacramento team. The role emphasizes developing and implementing project management plans, coordinating with PMU and SMRP, and shaping program enhancements to protect California’s environment.

The position requires strong project management, data analysis, and stakeholder communication skills, with opportunities to work in a hybrid environment at Cal Center Regional Office.

Qualifications

• Plan, organize, and communicate effectively under changing priorities.
• Experience drafting RFPs, RFQs, IFB and MQs.
• Proficient with PowerBI, GIS and Tableau for data visualization.

Responsibilities

• Independently develop and implement project management plans with PMU chiefs and staff.
• Develop policies and protocols with SMRP staff for program enhancements.
• Create annual workplans with KPIs in collaboration with PMU and Technical Support Branch.
• Coordinate with leadership to enable strategic priorities and program improvements.
• Provide recommendations on SMRP program improvements and execution.
• Advise SMRP management on strategies and goals to achieve mission objectives.
