Job summary

Intertek in Westminster, Colorado, seeks an Environmental Project Scientist/Engineer/Geologist to support Phase I/II ESAs, asbestos surveys, lead-based paint surveys, UST/LUST assessments, and soil/groundwater remediation. You will perform fieldwork and contribute to technical reports and proposals.

The role requires 8+ years of environmental consulting experience, a related BS, and travel up to 25%. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

  • BS in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or related field.
  • 8+ years of proven technical environmental consulting experience.
  • Project management/coordination experience.
  • Soil/Groundwater/Vapor sampling, data evaluation, and report preparation.
  • Experience managing field teams and drillers.
  • Experience managing projects under regulatory programs like VCUP, OPS, etc.
  • Client communications/management experience.
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong communication, analytical, organizational, and time/budget management skills.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Support the department on all environmental services including Phase I/II ESAs, asbestos surveys, lead-based paint surveys, indoor air quality assessments, UST/LUST assessments, site remediation, soil and groundwater sampling, wetland surveys, and/or field observation documentation.
  • Assist in developing work scopes, report preparation, client and subcontractor coordination, and assessment of proper response actions.
  • Manage and perform Environmental Site Assessments following applicable ASTM Standards.
  • Participate in installation of soil borings, monitoring wells, remediation activities, waste management and disposal, and other field requirements using SOPs.
  • Author technical reports and proposals; support planning, monitoring, and controlling project budgets and client relationships.

What are we looking for?

The Environmental Project Scientist/Engineer/Geologistis responsible for supporting the Environmental department in all services including Phase I/II ESA’s, asbestos surveys, lead-based paint survey, UST/LUST assessments, site remediation, soil/groundwater sampling and more. This person will complete fieldwork as well as work on technical reports and proposals. This position could travel 25% of the time depending on project load/location.

Shift/Schedule:

Monday – Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM (may vary)

The salary range for this position is $70,000to $95,000. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

What you’ll do:

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
  • BS in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or related field
  • 8+ years of proven technical environmental consulting experience
    • Project management/coordination experience
    • Soil/Groundwater/Vapor sampling, data evaluation, and report preparation
    • Experience managing field teams and drillers
    • Experience managing projects under regulatory programs like VCUP, OPS, etc.
  • Client communications/management experience
  • Must be detail-oriented, and a team player with excellent communication, analytical, and organization, as well as time and budget management skills
  • Must be computer literate and able to operate most field/office equipment relating to one’s discipline
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable driving recordrequired
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
Preferred Qualifications:
  • P.E. / P.G. or ability to obtain within one year
  • Experience with Vapor Intrusion Mitigation System Design
  • OPS Colorado Recognized Environmental Professional (CO-REP)
  • Colorado Asbestos Building Inspector (CABI)
  • Experience with SWPPP/SPCC plans/inspections
