Job summary

Partner Engineering & Science, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Site Assessor to join our growing team in an in-office role.

You will gain hands-on experience in due diligence, performing Phase I ESAs and site assessments under the guidance of industry experts. You will work on a collaborative team delivering high-quality ESA reports, site maps, and documentation while coordinating with clients and project managers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, or related field.
  • 2+ years writing Phase I environmental site assessments.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for field work.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) in accordance with ASTM standards and EPA regulations.
  • Perform site reconnaissance to identify environmental concerns via visual inspections and interviews.
  • Investigate historical land use through aerial photos, city directories, and regulatory databases.
  • Analyze environmental records and agency files to assess contamination risks.
  • Draft clear ESA reports with findings and recommendations.
  • Prepare site maps, figures, appendices, and photographic logs.
  • May collect limited samples following safety protocols.
  • Coordinate with clients, property owners, and site contacts for access.
  • Collaborate with PMs and reviewers to ensure project success.
  • Track timelines, deliverables, and budgets to ensure timely completion.
  • Stay current on environmental regulations and best practices.
  • Participate in training sessions and mentorship opportunities.

Job Overview

  • Draft clear, concise, and technically sound ESA reports, including findings and recommendations.
  • Prepare supporting documentation such as site maps, figures, appendices, and photographic logs.
  • May collect limited samples (building materials, water, air, etc.) when necessary, following safety protocols.
  • Communicate with clients, property owners, and site contacts to coordinate access and gather information.
  • Collaborate with project managers and technical reviewers to ensure project success.
  • Track project timelines, deliverables, and budgets to ensure timely completion.
  • Stay current on environmental regulations, industry trends, and best practices.
  • Participate in training sessions, webinars, and mentorship opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, or other related field.
  • 2+ years writing Phase I environmental site assessments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for field work.
  • Internship or consulting experience is a plus but not required.

Compensation

The pay scale for this role considers a wide range of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed pay scale estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic location where the position may be filled. You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive bonus program which is dependent on various factors, including, but not limited to, individual and organizational performance.
