Job summary

Kinder Morgan, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Project Permitting Specialist to lead and support environmental permitting and regulatory compliance for maintenance, repair, integrity, and construction projects involving natural gas, refined-products, and CO2 pipelines.

The role collaborates with project teams, consultants, and agencies to secure approvals and ensure safe, timely, and environmentally responsible execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences or related field.
• Minimum of five years of environmental permitting experience.
• Experience applying federal environmental laws and permitting requirements (NEPA, CWA, ESA, NHPA, MBTA, FERC).
• Experience across multiple U.S. jurisdictions.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Support environmental permitting activities for Kinder Morgan assets and projects.
• Coordinate permitting activities with regulatory agencies, field surveys, and negotiations.
• Manage consultants, ensure quality, schedule, and invoices.
• Assist project managers with planning, budgeting, and scheduling permitting components.
• Provide regulatory guidance to reduce costs, risks, and delays.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable environmental laws and permit requirements.
• Collaborate with Operations Support, PM, Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, and others; participate in site visits.
