Job summary

ERM is seeking a Consultant, Environmental Permitting Specialist, FERC Generalist, based in Texas or Louisiana. You will advance large energy projects by obtaining and coordinating federal, state, and local environmental permits while ensuring regulatory compliance and sustainable outcomes.

Work with a global team to deliver high-quality permitting analyses, engage with clients and regulators, and travel up to 40% as needed across a broad geographic area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in natural science or engineering.
• 2+ years of relevant environmental permitting experience.
• Strong MS Office Suite proficiency.
• Familiarity with GIS tools (ArcGIS) and map interpretation.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 40%.

Responsibilities

• Prepare permit applications for federal, state, and local authorities.
• Evaluate regulatory requirements and maintain project records.
• Develop technical documents, data tables, and calculations.
• Support project planning, scheduling, and progress reporting.
• Communicate clearly with clients, agencies, and stakeholders.
