Job summary

Fresh Mark, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Sampling Technician to perform microbiological sampling per EMP and manage samples from collection through documentation.

You will work with Production, Maintenance, and Sanitation to investigate root causes and implement corrective actions, while maintaining schedules and inventory for microbiological testing. The role requires flexible scheduling, independent work, and strong communication and documentation skills to support customer, regulatory,

Qualifications

• Degree, coursework, or experience in Microbiology, Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field preferred.
• Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Flexible schedule with occasional early mornings, shift work, and weekends as needed.
• Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental and microbiological sampling according to the EMP.
• Collect, label, document, and manage environmental swabs and samples.
• Perform routine testing including pre-operational, contact surface, air, water, and compressed air sampling.
• Partner with Production, Maintenance, and Sanitation teams on root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Maintain environmental monitoring documentation and cleaning schedules.
• Monitor microbiological inventory and testing supplies.
• Support customer, regulatory, and third-party audits.
• Participate in food safety, sanitation, microbiology, and capital project meetings.
