Job summary

Pace is seeking a Scientist I in Altoona, PA to join our environmental testing laboratory. You will conduct hands-on analysis of air, water and soil samples, following established chemistry and biochemistry methods, while ensuring data integrity and safety.

You’ll calibrate and maintain instruments, document observations, and contribute to a high-quality record system. A Bachelor’s in Chemistry or related STEM field is required, with training provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related STEM field is required or equivalent training.
• Ability to work in a laboratory environment with PPE and standing for extended periods.
• Willingness to participate in training on Pace® environmental testing methods.

Responsibilities

• Perform, support, and oversee the analysis of air, water, and soil samples using established chemistry and biochemistry methods.
• Calibrate, clean, maintain, and operate laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Accurately document procedures, observations, and results to maintain high-quality laboratory records.
