Job summary

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. Qualifications

• Current enrollment in an undergraduate Geology, Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering program.
• Interest in environmental consulting and fieldwork.
• Prior internship or design experience is a plus; local candidates preferred.

Job description

As an Environmental Intern for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in our Cleveland, OH office, you will work closely with our staff of 35 environmental professionals to obtain experience in all aspects of environmental consulting. Our service areas include environmental investigations and remediation, environmental compliance, hydrogeology, and environmental due diligence. Interns work directly under experienced personnel performing field sampling and observations, office data management and evaluation, and assist with report preparation support. Interns are also afforded opportunities to work with our other practices including civil, ecological and air quality. Interns are assigned a research topic to complete during their term at CEC and prepare a presentation to the group before completing their internship.

Through the CEC Internship Program, you will

• Acquire practical experience applying knowledge from college courses, learn from industry experts, and collaborate with teams across functional groups and locations
• Develop a robust professional network through social events and interactive activities
• Collaborate closely with a mentor in your discipline to tackle real-world challenges
• Participate in workshops to help foster interpersonal skills within the workplace and prepare students for success in their full-time careers
• Current enrollment in an undergraduate Geology, Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering program
• Prior internship and/or design experience a plus
• Local candidates preferred
