Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. is seeking highly motivated Environmental Interns for our Summer 2027 internship program in Windsor, CT. This paid full-time role supports engineers, scientists, and technologists under project Managers and Team Leaders.

Ideal candidates are pursuing degre es in Environmental Engineering or related fields, with a minimum 3.0 GPA, strong communication skills, and hands-on willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic consulting environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license.
• Pursuing Bachelor or Associate Degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Has excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Possesses solid technical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, detail orientated person.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
• Experience with engineering software applications (AutoCAD, Mathcad, ESRI, Hydro Cad, Water Cad, ArcView GIS, etc.) is preferred but not required
• OSHA 40-hour safety or 30-hour OSHA safety training preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support various project tasks including regulatory requirements/review estimates, research, procurement support, etc.
• Perform data entry, data management, data evaluation, and data presentation
• Field assistance with groundwater sampling, soil sampling, soil vapor sampling, ecological risk assessments etc.
• Field work oversight such as soil excavation, remediation, due diligence inspections, etc.
• Perform engineering calculations and design assistance for government, commercial, and industrial properties as needed.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as necessary.
