Job summary

A leading environmental consulting firm is seeking an Environmental Intern to join its San Marcos, TX team. This role offers an introduction to land development and environmental responsibilities through hands-on experience, including wetland delineations and coordination with regulatory agencies. Applicants should be currently enrolled in an accredited environmental science program and demonstrate a willingness to learn and contribute effectively. Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • One or more (1+) years' general work experience.
  • Valid state driver's license and able to pass a motor vehicle check.

Short Description

Bowman has an opportunity for an Environmental Intern to join our team in San Marcos, TX.

Purpose

An introduction to the environmental responsibilities of the land development industry through practical experience and exposure to wetland delineations, threatened and endangered species inventories, procuring appropriate permits, and coordination with regulatory agencies at the county, state and federal levels.

Responsibilities
  • Perform work under direct supervision of an experienced professional and follow established procedures and clearly defined processes.
  • Interact with multiple departments and peers within the organization and participate in intern program learning and development opportunities.
  • Learn and participate in complex field assessments, land use studies, and parkland impact assessments.
  • Conduct biological monitoring and assessments for quantifying impacts of development on wildlife populations.

Physical Demands and Working Environment
