Job summary

JLG Industries, an Oshkosh company, is seeking an Environmental Intern to support the Environmental team with initiatives focused on environmental compliance, waste reduction, process improvement, and operational efficiency in a manufacturing setting.

You will work alongside environmental and safety professionals on projects involving waste management, sampling, inspections, audits, and continuous improvement activities, gaining hands-on experience.

Qualifications

• Sophomore standing or higher pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater.
• Experience with Excel is desirable and helpful.

Responsibilities

• Assist environmental & safety teams directly.
• Help reduce costs and improve efficiency with the environmental department.
• Utilize value stream mapping to analyze and improve material flow and eliminate waste.

YOUR IMPACT

• Assist in the direct activities of our environmental & safety teams.
• Work with the environmental department to reduce cost and improve efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

• Student in a sophomore standing or greater working towards a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater.
  

Standout Qualifications

• Knowledge of Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel.
• Must have the ability to communicate with a number of individuals at different management levels.
  

WORKING CONDITIONS

• This role combines office-based administrative duties with physical activity in field or production environments.
• In the office setting, tasks may require extended computer use, sitting, and attending meetings.
• Field or floor work may involve walking across various terrains or shop floors, standing, moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds), climbing stairs, and exposure to varying temperatures or noise levels.
• Must be able to shift focus between detailed cognitive work and occasional physical tasks as needed.

Pay Range

$18.00 - $37.00
The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
