Job description

Summary

At Delta Star, safety is more than a requirement. It's a commitment to our people, our customers, and the quality of everything we build. We're looking for an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Technician who is passionate about creating a safe, compliant, and engaging work environment where employees can do their best work every day.

In this role, you'll partner closely with the EHS Coordinator, operations leaders, maintenance teams, and employees across the facility to support environmental, health, and safety initiatives. From conducting workplace inspections and supporting incident investigations to delivering safety coaching and maintaining compliance documentation, you'll play a hands-on role in strengthening our safety culture and driving continuous improvement.

This position is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow a career in Environmental, Health & Safety while gaining practical experience in regulatory compliance, incident investigation, employee engagement, risk reduction, and EHS program administration.

What You'll Do

As an EHS Technician, you'll help ensure our workplace remains safe, compliant, and focused on continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include:

Workplace Safety & Hazard Prevention
  • Conduct routine facility inspections, safety observations, and workplace assessments.
  • Identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and opportunities to reduce workplace risk.
  • Track corrective actions and partner with site teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Support proactive hazard identification and continuous improvement initiatives.
Employee Safety Engagement & Coaching
  • Provide day-to-day safety coaching and reinforcement of safe work practices.
  • Promote employee involvement in safety programs, reporting, and awareness activities.
  • Support toolbox talks, safety meetings, observations, and engagement initiatives.
  • Help foster a positive safety culture through visibility, communication, and leadership.
Training & Development Support
  • Assist with new-hire safety orientation and ongoing employee training.
  • Maintain training records and support scheduling and documentation activities.
  • Reinforce safety expectations through workplace coaching and follow-up activities.
Incident Investigation & Corrective Actions
  • Assist in investigating injuries, near misses, property damage, and safety concerns.
  • Gather facts, documentation, photographs, and witness information.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective-action development.
  • Track and monitor corrective actions through completion.
Environmental Compliance & Documentation
  • Support environmental compliance programs and waste management processes.
  • Assist with inspections of waste-storage and accumulation areas.
  • Maintain environmental records and compliance documentation.
  • Support spill prevention, response activities, and corrective-action implementation.
Audits, Compliance & Program Administration
  • Assist with internal audits, inspections, and regulatory readiness activities.
  • Maintain accurate EHS records, reports, and documentation.
  • Support administration of established EHS programs and initiatives.
  • Help ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Emergency Preparedness & Continuous Improvement
  • Support emergency drills, preparedness activities, and response planning.
  • Identify opportunities to improve safety performance and program effectiveness.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects that enhance workplace safety and compliance.
A Day in the Life

No two days are exactly alike. One morning may begin with a facility walkthrough, identifying potential hazards and discussing corrective actions with supervisors. Later, you may assist with a safety-training session, support an incident investigation, or review safety records to ensure compliance requirements are met.

Throughout the day, you'll collaborate with employees, leaders, and support teams across the facility to promote safe work practices, solve problems, and contribute to a workplace where safety remains a shared responsibility. Your visibility, communication, and attention to detail will have a direct impact on employee wellbeing and operational success.
