Job summary

GE Vernova Grid Solutions seeks an EHS Site Specialist to promote a fair, reporting and learning culture on project sites and ensure compliance with GE EHS standards, collaborating with operations to address site risks.

The role emphasizes proactive EHS risk management, incident investigations, trainings for forklifts, cranes, etc., and ongoing support to maintain regulatory compliance and continuous safety improvement on manufacturing facilities.

Qualifications

• Desired but not required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Health & Safety, Environmental Services or similar
• Desired but not required: Minimum of 1 year of experience in EHS with a focus in a manufacturing/industrial environment

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day EHS support for facility
• Ensure regulatory compliance for sites with permits, reporting and policies in place
• Help manage injury reports and care management
• Conduct EHS audits in support of compliance assurance activities
• Provide tactical issue resolution
• Work closely with operations team to identify and address EHS issues related to site operations and equipment
• Conduct EHS trainings for forklifts, cranes, etc.
• Assist with EHS program implementation, identify gaps and provide guidance on improvement opportunities
• Provide day-to-day EHS support for facility with continuous shop floor presence
• Partner with Operations leadership and hourly employees to ensure safety practices are understood and embraced
• Participate in site EHS inspections, audits to identify EHS deficiencies and define actions to close gaps
• Follow up and support to close ATS findings, employee concerns, Gensuite compliance calendar tasks
• Participate in EHS incident investigations
• Provide input, develop and maintain the area risk assessments
• Provide EHS support for different type of changes at the site (for ex.: new machine installation, layout changes)
• Participate in GE EHS initiatives and programs
• Provide expert advice, guidance, and direct assistance to ensure site compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations, guidelines, and permit requirements.

An EHS Site Specialist works to promote a fair, reporting and learning culture on project sites, to ensure compliance to GE EHS standards, and to help innovate solutions to protect the health and safety of workers. The Roles & Responsibilities section below best defines the role, which prioritizes the proactive management of site EHS risks. This role requires EHS Site Specialists to familiarize themselves with the work being performed by the personnel in the field and EHS Site Specialists will receive day to day management and development support from Senior EHS leader.

Essential Responsibilities

• Individual located at manufacturing sites and fixed facilities that provide day-to-day EHS support for that facility.
