Job summary

The Gund Company is seeking an entry-level Environmental Health and Safety Specialist for our Waukesha, WI plant. This role partners with leadership to strengthen safety culture, identify risks, and drive improvements that keep employees safe.

You will support OSHA/EPA compliance, conduct safety inspections, and deliver training across multiple manufacturing locations. The position offers growth opportunities within a people-first, employee-owned company.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, EHS or related field is required.
• 2-4 years of Environmental Health & Safety experience in manufacturing/industrial setting.
• Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Experience with hazard identification, risk assessment and incident investigation.

Responsibilities

• Drive proactive safety initiatives and employee engagement.
• Lead facility safety inspections and identify improvement opportunities.
• Investigate incidents and determine root causes to prevent recurrence.
• Analyze safety trends and support continuous improvement strategies.
• Support safety reviews for new equipment, processes, and facility changes.
• Deliver training and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company standards.
• Influence safe behaviors and build a culture of safety responsibility.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you'll partner with our Regional EHS Manager and plant leadership to strengthen and elevate our safety culture across the organization. You'll be a trusted resource for employees and leaders, helping identify risks before they become incidents while championing programs that make our workplaces safer, healthier, and more efficient.

Your impact will include:

• Driving proactive safety initiatives and employee engagement

What You’ll Bring

• Associate degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 2-4 years of Environmental Health & Safety Specialist experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and workplace safety regulations
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Experience with hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation
